“Muta” by Miu Miu
Beverly Hills, 19 of July 2011 – Miu Miu flies to Los Angeles for the premiere of “Muta”, the short film directed by Argentinian director Lucrecia Martel, which is also the second chapter of The Miu Miu Women’s Tales project: A contemporary film noir and a personal reflection on the transformative power of femininity.
For this occasion, an iconic 1920s mansion on La Collina Drive was transformed by Oscar winning set designer Martin Childs. Their interior designs were inspired by the Miu Miu Autumn/Winter 2011 collection where old Hollywood from the 40’s meets European Glamour. The intention of the set design was to recreate a cinematic film noir stage which has been abandoned by its actors.
Upon entering the courtyard, guests encountered a vintage car with chauffer from the 1940 s, setting the tone for mystery and glamour. Guests were invited to mingle with characters living within the light, and intriguing shadows of the home.
During the course of the evening, a cigarette girl presented guests with the Miu Miu Noir sunglasses collection, which represented the main characters in the film. Guests and young actresses had the privilege of trying on the sophisticated 40s styles while
being photographed by a roving reporter.

The new Miu Miu jewellery collection presents multicolour oversized lacquered necklaces, broaches, earrings and bracelets embellished with small perspex links. Τhe pieces have been created with an ironic sense of glamour, further underlined by the way they are showcased, that draws inspiration from the Haute Joaillerie: velvet cases, earring stands and bracelet holders against a backdrop of damask, brass and velvet.

went over Luisa store the other day to check on the new collections and i honestly sighed over the Miu Mius.. A big part of the pre-spring 2011 collection was already there hanging on heartless mannequins in the middle of the store that couldn’t feel and enjoy the playful engagement of colors. at least we can appreciating the beauty of those garments, can’t we.

it’s the first day of spring today and i can’t describe you my joy, i detest winter and rain and cold weather (not that we saw anything like it during this season in Athens) but enough with it already. i’m also lucky enough to have a house with a small garden which i’m taking good care of, so it’s time to reap the crops.
