Every moment spent at Buba is a moment well spent.
I don’t know anyone who doesn’t love a good thai meal. Buba Bistrot Exotique is a fusion paradise, both aesthetically and food wise. Its thai based menu includes oriental street food from Thailand, Hong Kong and Vietnam and a selection of exotic, peerless cocktails.
Highlights: The open kitchen, the colourful garden and the private space with a ceiling full of paper lanterns.
My dinner included mango salad, veggie vietnamese rolls with chilli ginger sauce, dumplings with fish and shrimp in thai broth, fried shrimps in panko and vietnamese bbq marinated in fish sauce *drooling*.
I had three (THREE) Pablo Escobar In Thailand cocktails (tequila, aperol chilli, fresh lime, lemongrass aroma and chilli salt) and I would happily drink another three. As for that night’s soundtrack let’s say that Buba knows how to mix and shake up things, by transcending genres in a fantastic, unwonted way.
Paraphernalia
If you haven’t found out already a new shop’s in town, a cabinet des curiosités where one can find several useful or decorative objects for one’s house and everyday life. The owners, experienced diggers on their field, bring out to the Paraphernalia light special findings from all over Europe, some of them even being one-of pieces.

Kasseta Rec
Coming to love Kasseta Records, the small shop at Sofokleous street where one can find real treasures by music devotees who are willing to play anything on the spot. Latest additions in my tiny collection are Gerhard Heinz’s “Library music” and Dukes of Chutney’s “BIS 011”.
The new year’s eve tux
My ideal outfit for a Christmas party consists of a fine tuxedo suit -with cropped pants, if possible- and a silk white shirt. Statement shoes are more than necessary. Τhis is my selection from a small place of wonders called Eponymo store at Mcarthurglen Athens. The well hidden romantic part of mine would go for the black delicate dress. As you well guessed a masculine tux and an ethereal silk frock are both parts of my split personality.

Wish list
A walk at McArthurGlen Athens is never disappointing. I came across Carlo Pazolini shop where I found dozens of ultra elegant brogues and masculine mid-heel shoes that looked great with a Pierre Balmain double breasted jacket I saw later at Alberta Ferretti. Note to reader: At Alberta Ferretti you can also find incredible stuff of other fashion houses such as Dsquared2, John Galliano, Red Valentino and more. I’m making my Christmas wish list and shoes has always been my starting point. Now I can delightfully add a Dsquared2 gown and that gorgeous Pierre Balmain jacket.
If you’re planning to pay a visit at McArthurGlen keep in mind the big celebration on Friday November 15th, when the Christmas tree will be lit!

Diesel goes Spring
Diesel welcomed Spring with a jazz party and a live performance by Thomais Apergi, under the creative direction of the highly sophisticated Michael Pandos. In case you didn’t know, Diesel owns a vintage collection of furniture from the 60s and 70s to-make-you-go-red, that were transfered on location especially for the presentation.
The fingerfood by Wagamama was ordered in the hues of the Diesel Summer 2013 collection (how eccentric to match the clothes with what one eats) and as for the drinks the best cocktail on planet earth was served: French 76 was the name of a heavenly made champagne-and-vodka mix, the favorite cocktail that Kate Moss enjoys at The Hemingway bar of Ritz Hotel in Paris -and the one that she later chose for her wedding party. I had three and I’d almost crawl on the floor of the Golden Hall. Loved it.
French 76:
3/4 oz vodka
1 dash grenadine syrup
1 dash sugar syrup
1/4 oz lemon juice
4 oz Champagne
Shake all ingredients (except champagne) well over ice cubes in a shaker. Strain into a champagne flute, fill with champagne, and serve.
