Stone & Body

That was the name of sculptor Dimitris Kalligeropoulos’s exhibition at the beautiful old school of Isternia village in Tinos,

that gave the right dose of art to our sea-food-sleep type of vacations there.

*Old tiles are a piece of art themselves.

Lo Spirito Vola

Gucci Museo announced “Paul Fryer: Lo Spirito Vola” as the second contemporary art exhibition of works, on loan from the François Pinault Collection. Curated by Francesca Amfitheatrof, the exhibition presents three of Paul Fryer’s iconoclastic art works on the transcendent, morality and religion: the major sculptural works Ophelia, Pietà (the Empire Never Ended) and Ecce Homo.

17th March – 4th September 2012, Gucci Museo, Piazza della Signoria, Florence, Italy

in one of the dozens of folklore museums in Tinos island, spotted those two beautiful statues of local artists. had to take the image remembrance home with  me.

When in Tinos, you cannot miss a visit to Yannoulis Halepas museum at Pyrgos village. a small collection of the sculptor classicist work before 1922 as well as from his later work after that, when his illness had vanquished him and his artworks came out with a unique, characteristic beauty.

Triad by Rudolf Belling

when i came across this statue of Rudolf Belling at Berlin i was magnetized and circled around it several times. those three abstract human figures seem like they dance, like there’s actual movement to the wood. Rudolf Belling achieved with this piece to unify the three major forms of art, painting, sculpture and architecture

this small video i took may give you an idea
