During the last years of her life Louise Bourgeois transformed her lived materials, such as old tablecloth and bed linen, into art,
by cutting up and restitching them. An attempt of psychological repair.
“I always had the fear of being separated and abandoned.
The sewing is my attempt to keep things together and make things whole”.
