Idiosyncrasy – The show

A wonderful, raw, immense warehouse at the old industrial zone of Athens was the ideal location for “Idiosyncrasy”, the new collection of Konstantinos Melis by Laskos, whose evolution of ideas and sartorial craftsmanship was more than evident.

Great concept realization by  Creative Director Michal Pandos and extra winning points for the lights, the conceptual hair (Vassilis Stratigos) & make up (Manos Vynichakis for Shiseido) and the Damien Hirst piece of art “As the memories fade”,

that was installed in the middle of the catwalk.

Once again, orchids were welcoming the crowd on the seats -loved that.

Celia Kritharioti Couture

Celia Kritharioti is one of the few couture houses in Greece, if not the only one. The precious beaded evening gowns and elaborated wedding dresses of the designer we know already. What I enjoyed most at her fashion presentation, that I attended a couple of days earlier than last night’s official press day, was the 40s silhouette and the full skirts, alongs with the stretch knitted bodycon dresses and the lush blue and green velvet.

Dolce & Gabbana Couture Shoes

Now those are the ultimate baroque-Cinderella pumps and sling backs girls, with clusters of sequins and crystals

embroidered in silk satin and velvet.

All from the first collection of  Dolce & Gabbana Alta Moda.

Ozon Fashion Flash

I’m overwhelmed with joy and satisfaction for last night’s Ozon Fashion Flash Spring-Summer 2013.

Somf and Digitaria were the designers that participated in a special fashion presentation, accompanied by the live music of Rattler Proxy (for Somf) and Melatonini (for the latter). Me and Christos Alxandropoulos, together with the two Somfettes, Mariaflora and Olivia, had been brainstorming for the last ten days regarding the presentation, the styling and the creative direction of the whole, and I want to believe that the final outcome was quite good.

I utterly enjoyed every moment of it (especially the song part -GOD!) Special thanks to Dimitris Sarantou with Moroccanoil, for taking a good care of the hair and make up of our girls.

Since I was too busy to use a camera, I kindly steal some shots from my dearest Ioanna Hatziandreou. You can also find some backstage photo collages by Markos Andriotis here.

The bigger the better

The best way to wear a total denim outfit is escorted by a cluster of crystals. Mariaflora and me tried different combinations the other day  and I ended up with a tiger necklace and a pair of bold earrings that I totally love.
All jewelry by Accessorize.

At the Vintage Festival

Last night at the private view of the famous A.N.G.E.L.O collection (which, as I mentioned before, opened its doors to public today), I fed my eyes and vintage hunger with the most beautiful looks of previous decades. Apart from the designer pieces, such as Celine, Jean-Paul Gaultier, Pucci, Chanel and Valentino just to mention a few, you can also find vintage treasures that don’t carry a precious signature, all in extremely good prices (trust me, I checked). A ride up to McArthurGlen Designer Outlet deserves to be ranked high into your next month’s t0-do list.

Alexander McQueen – The backstage film

Alexander McQueen launches today a backstage film created by Sean Frank, during the Spring/Summer 2013 show.

“The collection is a study of femininity. We looked at erotica. Vargas girls, cages, corsets and crinolines and the idealisation of the female form. Nothing is set in a particular period.  It’s about sensuality and skin but not nudity. We also wanted to express lightness, for the clothes almost to hover over the women who wear them.” Sarah Burton.

TR2: The House

The latest “Dolce far Niente” Wednesday
of TR2 took place in a wonderful old mansion dated back in the beginning of 20th century, in collaboration with two blonde ladies of the blogosphere. George Karabellas together with Christina and Filio organised a trunk show, full of homemade cupcakes, jewelry, exclusive TR2 items, pieces of art, Korres goodie bags and interesting people.
