i’ve always liked Angelos’s clothes, great technique and flawlessly crafted pieces. his collection for next winter that we watched tonight was a really good one, not loquacious, beautiful outfits, not a single one that i wouldn’t wear

oh and not to forget Spyros, our main man, with today’s outfit and impeccable attitude

April’s Vogue Hellas issue is out tomorrow and i’m extremely excited because of the fashion editorial i did together with photographer Katerina Tsatsani, titled Fashion Express. jeans/travel/nostalgia.
Me happy.
Last night Angelos Frentzos showed his collection “Disordered Clouds” for next winter at Athens Xclusive Designers week and we all liked this idea he had: for this last show the entrance and staircase of the building became the main catwalk for the models.

the collection was beautiful, both womenswear and menswear, great leather jackets, chiffon eyelet tops and leggings, ripped pants, checked vests.

very little light, very bad pictures i know, so try Mariaflora for some more backstage views
A classic white shirt is a staple in every woman’s wardrobe. To add excitement to this basic but essential piece of clothing, Viktor & Rolfhave designed the White Shirt Capsule Collection: five shirts with the unmistakable Viktor & Rolf signature. The starting point of the design is the classic men’s shirt in white poplin fabric, which is then transformed into a feminine version with soft and elegant tailoring, enriched with details such as bows, draping and ruffles in satin and georgette.

well, since i didn’t make it to tonight’s Barbara Bui show, i feel i should do at least a small post for her, so here are two leather embroidered jackets from her summer collection, as i wore them for my appointment tonight and at Vogue Hellas last party

yesterday at Rebecca Kamhi gallery: her majesty Nan Goldin
i got to meet her in person, choose the outfit for her portrait, talk a little about clothes and her friend Rick (Owens that is), see the exhibition while it was being set up and a shooting that should take a couple of hours took us five. what a persona.
here shot by photographer Sylvia Diamantopoulou
nan goldin was one of the first to do what is known as ‘intimacy photography’: she wasn’t looking for a theme to shoot, her life has always been the theme: autobiographical moments, friends, boyfriends, drug use, new-wave music scene, love, genre, sexuality.
the current exhibition at Rebbeca Kamhi gallery, which also includes a slide-show of her work on the lower floor
also, for the first time Nan shot the Bottega Veneta campaign for ss2010..
and at the gallery, some white magic by the printer
“The wooden beacons” is an installation by Architect Matteo Thun and Consuel Castiglioni of Fashion House Marni: a talking point about life cycle rhythm. A process of managing the entire life cycle of a product from its conception, through design and manufacture. Α dialogue between two creative worlds: architecture and fashion. Hardware and software. The mix of raw and soft elements as a demonstration of life cycle management. Interni Think Tank as a part of the FuoriSalone 2010 is the ideal platform to convey this idea.
Matteo Thun: “There is nothing that grows old faster than the new”
Marni: “Unexpected Juxtaposing”
The installation is composed of three “hardware” parts interacting with the “software”. Wood as Matteo Thun’s favorite material in architecture and design becomes a statement of gratitude: even treated it remains natural. Beacons, representing the “hardware”, are made from American red oak from the sustainably managed forests of North America.
The “software” inside the beacons are by Marni and unveil the process of creation. One beacon contains floating paper patterns, a series of outlines the designer uses to cut materials. Another beacon is filled with bales of Marni fabrics in different prints. The third beacon supports a sphere with hanging jewellery pieces in wood, resin, horn and seeds
Two more installations complete the project: in the courtyard of the Marni boutique in Via Senato, American walnut wood planks placed upright randomly create a path. In the window of the department store La Rinascente American cherry wood planks form together with jewellery elements a fragmentary composition.
Jewel designer Katerina Psoma has been featured in Italian Vogue’s shopping supplement, with her playful bangles made of resin, turquoise, silk ribbons, jade and small buddhas!
